Day Wise Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrival in Phuentsholing

  • Arrive at Bagdogra International Airport, NJP Railway Station, or Siliguri, where our representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to Phuentsholing, a vibrant Bhutanese border town.
  • Enjoy the scenic drive along the Asian Highway, passing through lush Duars tea gardens.
  • Known as Bhutan’s financial and trading hub, Phuentsholing presents a calmer atmosphere compared to its Indian counterpart Jaigaon. En route, enjoy lunch at a tourist-standard restaurant before checking into your hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.

Day 02 – Phuentsholing to Thimphu

  • After breakfast, drive towards Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan, a journey of around five hours through picturesque valleys and mountain roads. On arrival, begin exploring the city’s highlights, including the Memorial Chorten built in honor of the third King, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, showcasing Tibetan-style architecture. Visit the majestic Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest in the world, gilded in gold and housing 125,000 smaller Buddha figures.
  • End the day at the grand Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 03 – Thimphu to Paro

  • After breakfast, drive to Paro, a beautiful valley town surrounded by majestic mountains.
  • Explore Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), a striking 16th-century fortress that has served as a cultural and administrative hub for centuries, rebuilt after the earthquake of 1897 and a fire in 1907.
  • Continue to the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in the circular Ta-Dzong, where fascinating exhibits of art, handicrafts, and historical artifacts offer deep insight into Bhutanese heritage. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 04 – Paro & Taktsang Hike (Tiger’s Nest)

  • After breakfast, embark on an unforgettable hike to Taktsang Monastery, famously known as the Tiger’s Nest. Perched dramatically at 3,000 meters on a cliffside, this sacred monastery is one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks.
  • According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave.
  • Pause at a wooden teahouse halfway to enjoy magnificent views of the monastery before continuing the trek. Later, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples dating back to the 7th century, surrounded by peaceful orchards and symbolic orange trees.
  • Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 05 – Departure

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagdogra International Airport for your onward journey, carrying with you timeless memories of Bhutan’s serene landscapes, sacred sites, and warm hospitality.
