Day Wise Itinerary
Day 01 – Arrival in Paro & Drive to Thimphu
- Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet our representative for your transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city.
- Drive through picturesque hamlets and mountain landscapes.
- Visit the Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 to honor the third King, adorned with mandalas, statues, and intricate carvings.
- Later, explore Tashichho Dzong, the grand fortress and administrative seat of the Bhutanese government.
- Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 02 – Thimphu Sightseeing
- After breakfast, explore Thimphu’s cultural highlights.
- Visit Buddha Dordenma, a towering 51.5-meter golden statue with 125,000 smaller Buddhas inside. Continue to the Takin Sanctuary, home of Bhutan’s national animal.
- Explore the Folk Heritage Museum and the Painting School, where traditional arts and Thangka painting are preserved.
- Visit the National Library with its sacred texts and manuscripts, followed by the National Textile Museum, showcasing Bhutan’s rich weaving traditions.
- Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 03 – Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass
- After breakfast, drive towards Punakha, stopping at Dochula Pass for panoramic Himalayan views and the 108 memorial chortens.
- In Punakha, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kinley, also known as the “Divine Madman.” Continue to the magnificent Punakha Dzong, a six-storied fortress steeped in Bhutanese history.
- Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 04 – Excursion to Phobjikha (Gangtey Valley)
- Embark on a scenic drive to Phobjikha, a glacial valley at 3,000 meters known as the winter home of the rare Black-Necked Cranes.
- Explore the serene landscapes, traditional villages, and unique wildlife of the valley.
- Lunch will be arranged at a local venue before returning to Punakha.
- Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 05 – Punakha to Paro
- After breakfast, drive back to Paro with scenic stops en route.
- Explore Paro Dzong, a striking 16th-century fortress perched on a hillside and nicknamed the “Fortress on a Heap of Jewels.”
- Later, visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in Ta-Dzong, an ancient watchtower displaying over 3,000 works of Bhutanese art and cultural artifacts.
- Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 06 – Paro: Tiger’s Nest Hike / Optional Haa Valley Excursion
- Today, embark on a memorable hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark dramatically perched at 3,000 meters.
- The hike takes around 4–5 hours round trip, with a stop at a teahouse midway offering stunning views.
- In the evening, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples dating back to the 7th century.
- Alternatively, choose an optional day trip to Haa Valley via the Chele La Pass, one of Bhutan’s highest motorable passes, with visits to local Lhakhangs and Haa Dzong.
- Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 07 – Departure
- After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport, departing with unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s cultural treasures, tranquil valleys, and Himalayan grandeur.
